Calypso Diving Estartit is a family business run by Peter Lane for over 30 years!
Ex-commercial diver from the North Sea, Peter opened his diving centre in L’Estartit in 1982. Recreational diving was more entertaining and reassuring. Captain of our boat Calypso II, Peter knows the Illes Medes inside out. He is always willing to help you and to show you the true beauty of the Medes Islands!
Peter and Jacqueline will give you the best and clearest briefings in: Catalan, Spanish, German, French, Dutch and of course in English!
Peter is assisted by his wife, Jacqueline.
A Divemaster herself, Jacqueline knows well everything related to diving and the Medes Islands. Always present at the office to welcome and advise you. Dive bookings and accommodation, reception and administration, Jacqueline will help you organize the best diving vacation possible.
Our team is formed by Dani, Juan and Anne-Charlotte.
From different nationalities (French, Spanish, English…), all crew members speak various languages. PADI Instructors, Divemasters or Crew members, the team is always ready to help you on the boat, in the water or in the office!
OUR OFFICE
Our office is situated on the ground floor of a building where you can rent apartments.
We welcome you from 8.00 am to 7.00 pm.
We have a classroom that allows us to teach the theoretical part of PADI courses.

OUR BOAT, THE CALYPSO II
Designed specially as a diving boat, Calypso II is 13 meters long and can accommodate up to 36 passengers.
For security reasons, the zodiac, that we call the « Red Taxi » is always attached to the Calypso II in case of an emergency. It is also used to bring back tired divers who surface far away from the boat. The boat is equipped with a radio that is constantly in contact with our office and emergency services. On board, you will also find a first aid kit and an oxygen supply system (SABRE unit as used by the MOD).
For your comfort, the Calypso II is equipped with toilet and a small fresh water shower. Nets are available on the back of the boat to keep everything dry. You can jump from the back and the front of the boat.
TRANSPORT
We organize the transport of your equipment from the diving centre to the boat.
We also offer to pick up your equipment at your hotel, apartment or accommodation and transport it to the boat.
Don’t hesitate to ask us to come and pick it up for you! We bring it back after the dives to your hotel or to the office.
THE POOL
In order to carry out the PADI pool sessions, we use the area next to the center.
Convenient and sufficient to practice all the exercises, the pool is reserved for us from 8 am until 10 am.
COMPRESSION STATION
We have our own compression station to fill our 12 and 15 Litre bottles up to 200 bars.
All our bottles are equipped with double taps either in International or DIN form.
On the boat, we have adaptors if needed.
EQUIPMENT STORAGE
Next to the diving centre, we have 2 garages for our rental equipment and the equipment of our clients.
You can rinse your equipment in the bath and hang it up so it’s dry for the next dive!
If you don’t have your own equipment, you can rent it from us. We have “Aqualung” equipment that is regularly renewed and in good condition to offer you the best and safest dives.
